Tahini Sauce
Tahini sauce is a vegan, middle eastern condiment made of tahini paste, garlic, lemon juice, and some optional spices. It is super quick and easy to make, and it is a delicious accompaniment to falafel, shawarma, roasted vegetables, salad, or as dip.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 1 cup of tahini sauce
Ingredients:
1/2 cup tahini paste
Zest and juice of one large lemon (about 1/4 cup of lemon juice)
1/4 cup cold water
2-3 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp salt or to taste
1/8 tsp ground cumin
1/8 tsp sumac
Directions:
Combine tahini, lemon juice, and water in a bowl and mix well until you have a smooth sauce.
Add finely minced garlic, lemon zest, salt, cumin, and sumac.
Stir again, so that all ingredients are incorporated.
Serve immediately or refrigerate.
